PROP 8

Obviously everyone knows Prop 8 was passed and gay marriages are now illegal. Brown says Proposition 8 itself is unconstitutional because the Supreme Court's 4-3 decision last year recognized gays as a minority group entitled to judicial protection and established marriage as a fundamental right. On Thursday, the California Supreme Court will hear arguments on the decision of Prop 8. The court also will hear arguments on what should happen to the estimated 18,000 same-sex marriages that were sanctioned in the state before Election Day, if the measure is upheld.
Prop 8 was an unfair since the begining. First off, the wording of the prop confused probably 50% of the population that voted for it. Secondly, it is unconstitutional to refuse a right. What if someone said to you that you couldn't see this person because of their race or what if someone said you can't get married with this person because of the age difference. It is unfair to restrict something that is as personal as marrige. Being gay should be accepted and welcomed.
